We waited a while, did some team building and a photo shoot
<
http://blokart.jigluhood.com/tags/photos>, but finally about 3 pm we
started racing, the restricted struggling a bit with only 4 metres,
everyone else had a 5.5 in the 5-6 knts of fluctuating breeze. We then
got in 9 races, 3 in each division finishing at 5 and packing up in near
dark.
Straight windward /leeward races on the runway kept everyone busy and
sorted out those who could work the angles the best.
The restricted ended with a battle between Lucy and Callum with the
lighter Callum ghosting along to win two and Lucy got the other. Brett
was consistent with three 3rds.
Lightweights belonged to Margy B with 3 out of 3 guns with Dom and Sarah
fighting it out for the minor placings. Barry got his act together in
the last race to grab a 2nd with Sarah just behind.
The heavyweights struggled a bit in the light winds, Russell taking the
win but Bruce has found some new speed and grabbed a couple of seconds
with some good sailing and Nicko and Grant also getting some placings.
Photos and results out tomorrow.
Plenty of wind for tomorrow. There will be sailing at Ardmore
<
http://blokart.jigluhood.com/tags/ardmore> from about 1.00 pm onwards.
$5 for each kart, $2 for students.
This may be the first chance at this venue to get in some serious 3
metre sailing. Bring it on! And bring spare tyres as I imagine the tyre
wear could be high, but no worries, everyone has heaps of tyres now.
All mothers welcome.

Friday night is our dinner and summer prize giving at the Thai Flame
restaurant in East Tamaki.
Meet about 7 and we'll start the banquet about 7.30, stop for prizes
after the main course then finish with desert. It's BYO wine, $32 per
head to be paid to the ABC bank account with a bar operating as well.
It's great food plus a chance to celebrate the success of those who have
done well plus enjoy each others company. Hopefully we will also have
all the NI Champ entrants to tell of the success by ABC at Ohakea by the
club.
Email Russell advising me you are coming and numbers.
